Νέα διαδικτυακή απάτη

Εμφανίστηκαν και στη Σαντορίνη τα πρώτα ηλεκτρονικά μηνύματα (email) περί δήθεν απόπειρας κάποιου τρίτου να αποκτήσει ένα όνομα χώρου (domain) ίδιο ή παρόμοιο με της δικής σας επιχείρησης. Τα μηνύματα έρχονται από Asian Domain Registration Service in China  και είναι αληθοφανή παρόλο που αυτό που αναφέρουν είναι ανακριβές. Φαίνεται όμως ότι βρίσκουν αρκετά “θύματα” από τα οποία εισπράττουν χρήματα για δήθεν κατοχύρωση και εξασφάλιση του ονόματός τους στο διαδίκτυο.

Παραθέτουμε ένα τέτοιο email που λάβαμε και εμείς στο “ατλαντίς” προκειμένου να είστε ενήμεροι περί τίνος πρόκειται.  Επίσης εδώ μπορείτε να διαβάσετε και πoια email συνήθως ακολουθούν αν απαντήσετε στο αρχικό email.

    We are the department of Asian Domain Registration Service in China. I have something to confirm with you. We formally received an application on December 07, 2012 that a company which self-styled “KHS International Co.,Ltd” were applying to register “santorini” as their Net Brand and some domain names through our firm.
    Now we are handling this registration, and after our initial checking, we found the name were similar to your company’s, so we need to check with you whether your company has authorized that company to register these names. If you authorized this, we will finish the registration at once. If you did not authorize, please let us know within 7 workdays, so that we will handle this issue better. Out of the time limit we will unconditionally finish the registration for “KHS International Co.,Ltd”. Looking forward to your prompt reply.
